I had the pleasure of working with Chelsea Simpson, Community Animation Manager at the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) in New York City since I began my collaboration there a year ago, as a Community Development Projects Consultant. During this time I have come to know Chelsea as a cherished leadership team member in this unique social entrepreneurial community. Chelsea is a genuinely talented and highly dynamic community catalyst. She stands out as a passionate, insightful and creative community animation manager who has developed and sustained a versatile and compelling events programming strategy over the past three years. As a member of the Center for Social Innovation (CSI), I have known and collaborated with Chelsea since 2015. She is a rare gem; talented, kind, loving, and dedicated to her job. She has the ability to light up every room she is in, pull the best qualities out of people, and is truly inspiring to be around. Beyond her infectious personality, she is good at what she does. Well-spoken and articulate, highly-organized with an acute attention to detail, a great writer, event-planer extraordinaire, and an effortless multi-tasker. I had the pleasure of working with Chelsea to organize several CSI ‘Member Mixers' and community activist events. These qualities permeated her work and resulted in successful, engaging events; many of which were pulled together under short/demanding timelines.
In addition, Chelsea is a passionate, self-driven tour-de-force. I have never met an individual so dedicated to personal growth and professional development. It seems nearly every weekend she is embarking on a retreat, beginning a new PD course, or collaborating for a social cause. I am not sure where she finds the time and energy, but I can say with confidence that she would be a great asset to any team, and one that will thrive and continue to grow in any environment.

Chelsea was my trip leader during a 3 week delegation to La Puertona, El Salvador, an agrarian town deep in the hills of the country's Cabañas province. With unparalleled candor, energy, and thoughtful intention, Chelsea was the vessel by which myself, and the 15 or so other delegation members, forged mutually beneficial relationships with the community members of La Puertona that far outlast our physical time there. Chelsea toed the fine line between challenging us while easing our transition — a feat which deepened both the individual and the collective experience. Every phrase of hers is intentional; every act out of boundless empathy. Any company, community, and individual would be lucky to have her as a part of them!
